Jake + Linda : A colorful early Spring wedding

Bright, fresh, colorful, personal and sweet. When the wedding and clients descriptors match.

There is no doubt, this couple has chemistry. These two lovebird pharmacists met while in school at Purdue University. Although they reside in Boston, they decided to tie the knot in Louisville, across the river from Jake’s hometown of New Albany, Indiana.

In our email exchanges, I could tell Linda was extraordinarly thoughtful and kind. However, when the couple came to town for a site visit at the Ice House Louisville, and brought artisan chocolates from Boston for the vendors, I was truly surprised and touched (and my mouth was delighted)!

Tulips, ranunculus, Juliet garden roses, and the Brides’ must feature floral—phalaenopsis orchid.

The couples’ goal was to create an event that would be thoughtful, intentional, romantic and fun. Early Spring can be a tinge dreary in Northern KY, so colorful floral was a must. It was also important to the couple to pay tribute and honor Linda’s Chinese heritage. Nic created an XL double happiness sign for the lounge and tea ceremony area, then decorated with candles, greenery, and Linda’s mother’s favorite flowers, phalaenopsis orchids.

Despite the chilly temps and persistent wind, Jake and Linda exchanged vows on the rooftop at the Ice House with sweeping views of the city and river. Our team doubled up on hats and jackets to design the floral installation, and TRIPLED up (or so) on our mechanics to make sure it was secure and would stay put during the ceremony. Not ideal, but I absolutely adore that Linda choose to be warm and enjoy her ceremony, wearing a jacket rather than freeze and be miserable. Can you tell that I think she’s the coolest?

No mention of Linda and Jake would be complete without mentioning their beloved greyhound, Zara. Of course, she needed a floral embellishment of her own. I tried to maintain my cool when adorning her collar, but the little kid inside of me gets so pumped when pets are involved on wedding day.

Congratulations Jake + Linda (and Zara!)
